Website tip 6:

VOLUMETRIC WEIGHT

For large light-weight shipments, Barnetts Couriers shipment rates are calculated on the greater value between the actual (dead) weight of the shipment and the volumetric (cubic) weight measured in kilograms.

How do we calculate the volumetric weight?

To calculate the volumetric weight, simply multiply the LENGTH by the WIDTH by the HEIGHT of your shipment (in metres) by 250.

Our volumetric (or cubic) conversion factor is 250 kilograms per cubic metre. Our charges reflect the greater of either the actual (dead) weight OR the volumetric (cubic) weight.

A sample calculation is set out below:

This shipment measures 1.2m long X 1.1m wide X 1.0 m high.
It actually weighs only 50 kilograms.
Thus 1.2 X 1.1 X 1.0= 1.32 cubic metres X 250 = 330 kgs. (This is the chargeable weight).

Website tip 5:

If you do not have an account with Barnetts Couriers you can log-in as a Guest on all functions other than Book Online.

If you require an account then click on Account Application, fill in the details required and either submit via email or print out and fax back to (02) 4224 4200.

Website tip number 7:

When you book online you now have the ability to print out your own stick on labels to go on the goods that you are sending.

To do this, click on Recent Jobs and when you see the job number concerned, click on the Label button. This will open a pop up, click Open and then print from your printer.

These labels are on perforated paper, 3 to the A4 page with a peel off backing. By using this label system it will ensure that the amount of items that are picked up from you will be the same amount that will be delivered to your customer.

These labels will be supplied to you at no cost if requested.
